The Cyclorama
Visitors walk inside the circular painting and are surrounded by the immense artwork. A spectacular 3D effect is achieved in this painting with its detailed artwork and realistic perspective, creating an incredible illusion for the viewer. Music and sound effects composed especially for the painting further enhance the Cyclorama experience.
The painting blends a series of scenes, taking you on a journey depicting the history of the Norfolk Island people who are descended from the crew of the famous 1789 mutiny on the Bounty and their Tahitian companions. Their tale is told through storyboard panels which document the scenes of the painting – the voyage of the Bounty to Tahiti, the mutiny and the settlement of Norfolk Island.
